37145 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Since the AUT study showing that airborne asbestos was found in some of the recalled products., has the Government taken any action related to contaminated asbestos sand products; if so, what exactly?

Cameron Brewer: Sand products containing asbestos were recalled due to the potential health risks they pose. The AUT research subsequently found that asbestos fibres could become airborne during the use of some recalled products. This finding provides further evidence of the potential risks associated with these products and supports the existing public health advice.
