Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: How many staff, if any, in headcount terms did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, have on 1 July 2020 and how many of these staff, if any, were union members?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that Oranga Tamariki had a headcount of 4327 staff members as at 30 June 2020, 3043 of whom were union members. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that this information is readily available as at 30 June 2020, and as such, in accordance with the Speaker’s Ruling 199-3, I consider that the time, and therefore the additional expense, of answering the Member’s question as at 1 July 2025 is not in the public interest.
