37082 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Police: How many, if any, mental health clinicians work in police call centres that receive 111 calls?

Hon Mark Mitchell: None. Police have access to a Mental Health Triage line operated by Whakarongorau Aotearoa - New Zealand’s National Telehealth Service. This service enables call centre staff to transfer calls for people who are experiencing mental distress, where an emergency Police response is not required.
