37069 (2025). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: How many prosecutions, if any, were there for breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code in the most recent year that data was available, and how does this compare with the previous five years?

Hon Simon Watts: Breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 are not offences and, accordingly, do not involve prosecutions (breaches are enforced in accordance with the process set out in the Electricity Industry (Enforcement) Regulations 2010). There are a limited number of offences the Electricity Authority is responsible for set out in its legislation and regulations. I am advised that there have been no prosecutions of offences undertaken by the Electricity Authority this year or in the last five years.
