37067 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: What is the total resources dedicated to managing the response to Caulerpa, including FTE staff and funding?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries has committed more than $24 million to respond to caulerpa since it was detected in New Zealand, with further investment this financial year likely to bring this closer to $30 million by 30 June 2026. Around six FTE are involved in the programme. External partners (councils, iwi and the Department of Conservation) contribute additional funding and staff support to deliver the Programme.
