37064 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: What is the total resources dedicated to managing the response to wilding pines, including FTE staff and funding?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: In 2025/2026, there is $15 million allocated to the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme; made up of $12 million from the Ministry for Primary Industries and $3 million from the International Visitor Levy. Biosecurity New Zealand employs seven FTE in the programme who work alongside local council, iwi and other stakeholders. External partners contribute additional funding and staff support to deliver the Programme.
