Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Lead Coordination Minister for the Government's Response to the Royal Commission’s Report into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions: Further to 34545 (2025), for what reason, if any, was further information on debt partially owed to the Crown by survivors provided to the Minister?

Hon Erica Stanford: Initial advice was proactively provided by officials as some survivors of abuse in care who receive redress payments have debts owed to the Crown (e.g. unpaid child support) and I requested some further information. I am advised the approach to Crown debt has not changed since the previous Government.
