36968 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How many traffic cones, if any, are estimated to have been removed from roads as a result of the NZTA Board requiring councils to apply a more pragmatic guide to temporary traffic management to their local roadworks contracts, if any?

Hon Chris Bishop: I refer the Member to the response to 29614 (2025) where I responded: NZTA does not hold a record of the number of road cones removed. Temporary traffic management is purchased as a complete service from planning, approvals and operations. It is not possible to quantify how many road cones have been removed from the roads.
