36919 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Associate Minister of Transport: What is the expected minimum and maximum funding amount for individual projects under the Coastal Shipping Resilience Fund?

Hon James Meager: The $30million Coastal Shipping Resilience Fund opened for applications on 11 June 2025 and an Expression of Interest is available from the Ministry of Transport website. Applicants have until 21 August to submit a proposal for investment, as such, I have not received any advice on the applications. Once all the applications are received, Officials will assess the proposals against the evaluation criteria in the expression of interest. Projects for investment will then be recommended to Ministers. The Ministers of Finance, Transport and Regional Development have been delegated authority from Cabinet to jointly decide how the fund is invested. Further detail on the eligibility and evaluation criteria is available on the Ministry of Transport website and public announcements will be made when the successful applicants have been selected. I expect this to include monitoring and reporting arrangements.
