36918 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Further to reply 35090, what is considered 'essential plan making' that will be able to continue?

Hon Chris Bishop: As stated in my reply to written parliamentary question 35090 (2025), there will be exemptions for some plan and policy statement changes and reviews that are currently being progressed, such as those related to housing growth and urban development or related to natural hazards. The amendment paper to the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Bill will detail the exemption criteria to enable essential plan making to continue.
