Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Housing: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 28 July 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what is the proposed net change in roles?

Hon Chris Bishop: On 29 July 2025, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development opened consultation on proposed changes to Executive Assistant and Business Assistant roles in its administration support model. The Ministry is proposing a reduction of 9 positions (2 of which are vacant) from its current administration support model of 23 positions, a redistribution of positions across business groups, and refreshed role descriptions. Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it is not opening any consultations in the week beginning 28 July 2025.
