Hon Shane Jones: Only 0.1 percent of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation’s Convention Area is currently open to bottom trawling. There are currently no plans in place to prohibit New Zealand flagged vessels from bottom trawling on the high seas of the South Pacific.
