36762 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: When, if ever, will he introduce legislation to ratify the High Seas Treaty?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Following the conclusion of the Parliamentary Treaty Examination earlier this year, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have been working through the remaining domestic processes. A bill is currently being drafted, after which it will be introduced to the House of Representatives. It is expected that the Bill will be introduced at the end of this year or early 2026.
