Hon Mark Mitchell: Since becoming Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I have regularly engaged with councils on a number of portfolio related matters. • I have corresponded with councils impacted by the North Island weather events to discuss the impacts on their region. Specifically I wrote to all impacted councils outlining the Government’s expectations on speeding up their region's recovery and have received responses from them. • I have also received and responded to correspondence on a range of matters related to civil defence emergency management, including Council emergency management facilities, risk reduction and mitigation measures, and legislative reform. I do not believe it is a good use of resource to search six months of communications for specific titles and dates. I would be prepared to reconsider this if the member wishes to be more specific about the information he requires.
