36522 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Does the Minister agree with claims in a Facebook post by Environment Canterbury Councillor Ian Mackenzie regarding nitrate contamination of groundwater, that had a "managed aquifer recharge programme... been allowed to go ahead 3 years ago... the shallow aquifer groundwater at Laghmor [School] would have met the drinking water standard and not required a new bore" ?

Hon Nicola Grigg: I cannot say either way, because I have not received analysis on this matter. Regardless this appears to be a matter for Environment Canterbury to answer as the regional council responsible for those decisions.
