36236 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How many individuals’ resident visa applications decided in 2024 were given a medical waiver, if any?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that to provide this information would require substantial collation. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) would need to manually check the 54,855 individual applications approved over 01 January 2024 - 31 December 2024 to obtain this information. This would remove INZ staff from their core duties and therefore the greater public interest in the effective and efficient administration of the public service would not be served.
