Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How many times, if any, was the applicant’s medical condition, or group of conditions, which require health services for which the current demand in New Zealand is not being met identified as the basis of a decision to decline a resident visa in 2024?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that to provide this information would require substantial collation. Immigration New Zealand would need to manually check every residence application declined over 01 January 2024 - 31 December 2024 to obtain this information. This would remove Ministry staff from their core duties and therefore the greater public interest in the effective and efficient administration of the public service would not be served.
