Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Does the Minister consider that the Appointment of Sir William Young to the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, even though a private matter, could be seen to have a negative impact on New Zealand's International reputation; if not, why not?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: No. The appointment of a retired New Zealand judge to the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal is a private arrangement. Such private Arrangements do not reflect on New Zealand.
