Hon Damien O'Connor to the Minister for Land Information: Further to the reply to written question 32025 (2026), what changes, if any, have been made since 2024 to the assessment methodology, evidential requirements, or level of verification applied by Land Information New Zealand to overseas investment applications?

Mike Butterick: Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has made the changes that it was directed to implement in the Ministerial Directive Letters of 8 April 2024 and 6 March 2026. LINZ has also implemented the changes made in the Overseas Investment (National Interest and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2025.
