36166 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Associate Minister of Housing: What proportion of Kāinga Ora tenants are disabled?

Hon Tama Potaka: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that based on information collected by the Ministry of Social Development when people are assessed for the Housing Register, 1.4 percent of Kāinga Ora tenants housed from the register have a physical disability. Needs change over time, so Kainga Ora undertook a comprehensive survey of its tenants in early 2022. The results of this can be found in the attached table. Note that people can have more than one disability.
