36145 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Racing: Will the Minister undertake an impact analysis, similar to that undertaken by Associate Justice Minister Nicole McKee in relation to cryptocurrency ATMs, to assess whether compensation should be paid to affected greyhound racing stakeholders?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Cabinet has yet to make detailed policy decisions on how the closure of the greyhound racing industry might occur. These decisions will be informed by the advice of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Greyhound Racing. Announcement will be made once decisions are taken. Any proposals will be accompanied by a Regulatory Impact Analysis prepared according to current Cabinet requirements.
