36107 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Infrastructure: Would the Minister consider prioritising the use of Fast-track consenting for critical transport and community infrastructure only, while requiring large-scale residential developments to go ahead, through existing Queenstown Lakes District Council planning processes?

Hon Chris Bishop: I have no plans to amend the settings in the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 at this time. I have every confidence in the independent expert panels' ability to make decisions on large scale residential matters in the same way as they do any other fast-track application matter.
