36075 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Local Government: Has the Minister directly communicated with the Minister for Regional Development about how a proposed rates cap could impact the Regional Infrastructure Fund; if so, what were all the canvassed impacts and on what dates did any such communications occur; if not, why have no such communications occurred?

Hon Simon Watts: I consulted with the Minister for Regional development throughout the policy process, including for Cabinet papers in April and November 2025 and earlier this year throughout the policy and legislation development process.
