Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Which of the financing and transaction fees incurred in reaching financial close on the Warkworth to Te Hana project, if any, are ultimately borne by NZTA or the Crown, whether directly or through the Unitary Charge payments, and what is the total value of those fees?

Hon Chris Bishop: The direct financing fees related to the Contractor’s debt and equity financing are borne directly by the Contractor. As with all projects of this nature, the successful consortium will have included an allowance for financing and transaction fees in its competitively tendered price. The breakdown and quantum of these fees is commercially sensitive.
