35693 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: How does MPI notify industry when a document incorporated by reference (such as an ISPM) is amended, given clause 1.2(2) in the IHS for Fresh Blueberries for Human Consumption removes the requirement for a prior publication notice?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that the purpose of Clause 1.2(2) is to ensure that users of the standard are aware of the need to check for the current version of the relevant International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM). On a case-by-case basis, the Ministry for Primary Industries may use its communication channels to alert users of the standard to significant changes to a relevant ISPM.
