Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: In the draft IHS Fresh Blueberries for Human Consumption, were the irradiation doses for Anastrepha fraterculus, Ceratitis capitata and Rhagoletis mendax set with reference to New Zealand-specific efficacy trials, or adopted from doses used by other countries' biosecurity authorities?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The proposed irradiation treatments are based on international standards and this provides sufficient evidence of their efficacy.
