Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: How many vacancies, if any, were advertised by the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, from January to June 2025, and how many total applicants, if any, were received for those vacancies?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that between 1 January 2025 – 30 June 2025, the Ministry of Health advertised 113 vacancies that attracted a total of 2,907 applicants. I am further advised by Health NZ that it is not possible to provide the Member with the information requested as it would require Health NZ to undertake a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210-6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
