Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and Kainga Ora – Homes and Communities is unable to provide the number of applicants for this time period, as this information is not centrally recorded. Providing the Member with the data requested would require substantial collation and engagement and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
