Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: How many vacancies, if any, were advertised by the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, from January to June 2025, and how many total applicants, if any, were received for those vacancies?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I refer the member to the attached table. Where data is unavailable, I have been advised that this is due to the following reasons: The Ministry for Culture and Heritage does not capture data on when vacancies are advertised. The Ministry also does not retain applicant data after vacancies have closed and/or appointments have been made. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra manages two distinct recruitment processes, one for musicians which involves auditions and trials which can extend over multiple years, and one for administrative staff. This results in two incomparable data sets for vacancy and applicant data.
