35323 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What examples, if any, has the Minister seen of educational outcomes at the national level increasing at the rate required to meet the 2030 target in the past?
Hon Erica Stanford: None. The Curriculum Insights and Progress Study will be used to monitor student progress and achievement on an annual basis. The Curriculum Insights and Progress Study baseline data for reading and maths is taken from Term 4, 2023; and the baseline data for writing is taken from Term 4, 2024. The current performance data for reading is taken from Term 4, 2023; and current performance for maths and writing is taken from Term 4, 2024. The 2024 maths and writing results are due to be released in August 2025. There was no reading assessment in the 2024 Curriculum Insights and Progress Study, as reading and writing were assessed on alternate years. However, the study has been expanded to measure reading, writing and maths every year from 2025. Early indications of the impact from the suite of interventions that are being rolled out over 2025, can start to be gathered from 2025 study, which will be available in early 2026.
