35276 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What spare capacity, if any, is there in each of Oranga Tamariki's Korowai Manaaki, Whakatakapokai, Te Maioha o Prekarangi, Te Au rere a te Tonga, and Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo youth justice facilities, expressed in the number of beds and based on current staffing levels?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the total number of beds available across Youth Justice residences as at 3 August 2026 was 20. A further breakdown is provided below: Korowai Maanaki = 7 Whakatakapokai = 1 Te Au Rere a te Tonga = 8 Te Maioha o Parekarangi = 1 Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo = 3
