35273 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Does each of Oranga Tamariki's Korowai Manaaki, Whakatakapokai, Te Maioha o Prekarangi, Te Au rere a te Tonga, and Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo youth justice facilities, have the staffing complement required to staff the maximum capacity of the youth justice facility; if not, how many Full-Time Equivalent staff short is each facility and what are the roles involved?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that each shift in a Youth Justice residence is rostered with the staffing complement required to meet operational requirements. Where there are shortages due to unplanned absences, additional shifts may be offered to casual staff or through overtime arrangements, or leadership staff may fill in on the residence floor.
