Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning 21 July 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and when is any such consultation expected to close?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that MPI is consulting on three change processes, as follows: • Biosecurity New Zealand has proposed a change in reporting line for 16 employees (no reduction in roles) within the Business Unit. Consultation closes on 5 August 2025. • Biosecurity New Zealand has proposed to disestablish one position and a change in reporting line for seven employees within the Business Unit. Consultation closes on 30 July 2025. • Public Affairs has proposed to disestablish two positions (one of which is vacant), create two new positions, and a change in reporting line for 12 employees (no reduction in roles) within the Business Unit. Consultation closes on 4 August 2025.
