Rachel Boyack to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: Was the proposed elimination of historian positions at Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage, that maintains digital resources such as Te Ara Encyclopedia of New Zealand, the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography, NZHistory.govt.nz, and Te Akomanga, in line with, or in opposition to, official advice?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: As previously articulated to the Member, any decisions in relation to the change proposal at the Ministry for Culture and Heritage are the responsibility of the Chief Executive, therefore, I have not received advice to inform a decision because it is not my decision to make. I have, however, received verbal updates from officials as the change process has progressed.
