35041 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Defence: Does the Minister agree with Australian international space law expert Cassandra Steer that the unpredictable nature of Starlink’s owner and the geopolitical situation in the US could leave Australia open to “unpredictability and vulnerability” and if so how will that risk be managed in New Zealand and if not why not?

Hon Judith Collins: I have not received advice on this matter. If I were to receive a proposal relating to Starlink, I would expect the risks to be considered as part of this.
