35038 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Will open-classrooms already built be turned into single cell classrooms; if so, will the new closed classrooms count towards the government’s new classroom numbers?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Ministry of Education does not hold data on numbers of open plan or closed cell classrooms. Boards of Trustees will make decisions on any changes to classroom configurations. Reconfiguration of teaching spaces will not impact on new classroom numbers. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 35039 and 35040 (2025).
