35029 (2025). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: Is data kept on the number of new residential, commercial and industrial gas connections each year, and if so, how many new residential, commercial and industrial gas connections have their been in each year since 2019?
Hon Simon Watts: The Gas Industry Company maintains a registry of gas connections to support consumers that want to switch between gas retailers.
Table 1 below sets out the number of new connections since 2019 with approximate numbers for residential, small commercial, large commercial and industrial consumers.
