34976 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister of Forestry: Where are the "identified indicative areas of Crown-owned land that could be explored for partnership opportunities" for afforestation, listed by location and number of hectares identified?

Hon Todd McClay: MPI published a Request for Information (RFI) on 18 December 2024 to gauge interest from the private sector, NGOs, and iwi to partner with government to plant trees on Crown land with low conservation and farming values. This included an indicative map. However, no decisions have been made in respect on any land that might be made available for exotic or native afforestation.
