34942 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Education: Which schools or other education facilities in the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago districts have been identified as requiring investment to support forecast population growth, if any, and what is the estimated cost of each?

Hon Erica Stanford: Budget 25 funded two growth projects in Queenstown Lakes: • Dunstan High School: 6 additional classrooms • Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau: 12 additional classrooms. Budget 26 funded the following growth projects: • Hawea Flat School: 4 additional classrooms • funding to purchase a site for a future new high school in Queenstown. In total, across both Budgets this represents an investment of over $30 million to accommodate growth in these districts.
