34918 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: Has the Department of Corrections provided any written or verbal communication to prisoners about the E. coli contamination at Christchurch Men's Prison; if so, on what date(s), and in what form?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that two notices were provided to prisoners on 4 July 2025, directing them not to use tap water and to take care when showering. The second of these notices also alerted prisoners to the fact that there had been a positive E.coli test at the prison, and provided further information about E.coli. I refer the member to my response to WPQ 33517 (2025) which provides further context around our response to E.coli contamination at Christchurch Men’s Prison.
