34891 (2025). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister of Housing: What directives, if any, have ministers issued regarding the eviction of tenants from state housing since 27 November 2023?

Hon Chris Bishop: Tenancy Evictions and relocations are operational matters and therefore not the subject of Ministerial Directives. The March 2024 Letter of Expectations to the Kāinga Ora Board noted that we expected Kāinga Ora to implement tenancy management policies that strike a different balance between the benefits to a disruptive tenant of sustaining the tenancy and the impacts of that approach on neighbours.
