34824 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: What is the estimated number of people experiencing homelessness in Auckland, according to the June 2025 Homelessness Insights Report, including any breakdowns by type of homelessness and any comparison to the previous report?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Homelessness Insights Report notes that based on the 2023 Census estimates, Auckland was the TA with the highest estimated number of people living without shelter in 2023 at 747 people. Figures from Auckland Council's latest quarterly update shows that as at the end of May 2025 the 6 providers with outreach capacity were working with 809 unsheltered clients who were sleeping in cars, streets and local parks, up from 653 in January this year, and 426 in September 2024.
