Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Investment: How much, if any, is the total (finalised) budget in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2026/27 financial year on artificial intelligence- including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised by the Social Investment Agency (SIA) that their total finalised budget for the 2026/27 financial year on artificial intelligence is approximately $225,000 for AI Lead expertise and agreed licensing. Training is covered by an internal enablement programme. Additional training costs are met from SIA’s broader training budget and applied as determined by line managers, and are not included in the above figure.
