34496 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Associate Minister of Education: Will parents who lose Ministry provided school transport under the proposed changes to school buses be liable for attendance related fines and if so why and if not why not?

Hon David Seymour: The primary responsibility for transporting children to and from school rests with their caregivers. While the government does its best to assist, it can't fund every journey and that is not a reason for students to be absent.
