34407 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How many internships, graduate roles, apprenticeships and school-to-work placements, if any, is the Northway consortium contractually required to provide on Warkworth to Te Hana, and what targets, if any, apply to Māori and Pasifika participation?

Hon Chris Bishop: Schedule 22 in the Project Agreement outlines requirements for participation. Clause 6 mandates that Northway provide the following Employment and Economic Opportunities for Māori applicants: eight or more full-time apprenticeship positions during works provisioning, two or more full time apprenticeship positions (per year) in key engineering trades, and two or more summer internship opportunities.
