Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: When did he reach the conclusion, announced on 27 July 2026, that the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) board required a different balance of skills and experience with a stronger emphasis on governance, particularly financial and regulatory oversight?

Hon Chris Bishop: This decision was made when I confirmed who I wanted to progress for appointment to the NZTA Board. I made this decision on 31 May 2026.
