34394 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Did he seek or receive any advice on the individual performance of any member of the NZTA board before concluding that the board required a different balance of skills and experience, and if so, from whom?

Hon Chris Bishop: Consistent with good practice, the Ministry of Transport reviewed the overall composition of the NZTA Board as part of the appointment round that was just concluded. That advice recommended a Board composition with a stronger emphasis on governance, particularly in financial and regulatory oversight.
