34389 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Did he, or any person acting on his behalf including a member of his office, request, suggest, or otherwise indicate to NZTA board members Pat Dougherty or Mike Rudge that they should resign or step down from that board?

Hon Chris Bishop: My conclusion that the Board requires a different balance of skills and experience was initially communicated to Mr Dougherty and Mr Rudge by Ministry of Transport officials. Both resigned following that communication.
