34264 (2026). Hon Damien O'Connor to the Minister of Defence: What advice, if any, has he received from the New Zealand Defence Force or officials since 1 June 2026 regarding the security situation in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea?

Hon Chris Penk: On 27 July 2026 I received a briefing from officials from the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on the security situation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. I have also received verbal updates from MOD and NZDF officials.
