34262 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: How, if at all, is AI profiling and/or facial recognition used in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that AI profiling and/or facial recognition is not used at the Ministry. I am further advised that such tools are not used by Health New Zealand, except where such technologies may be integrated into commercially procured security systems for standard security purposes. Where used, these systems are subject to applicable privacy, security, and legal requirements.
